Joss talks about doing a Dr. Horrible sequel and possible movie..kind of
Share |
A feature-length Dr. Horrible sequel is a serious consideration but not definite. "We've talked about doing an actual studio film, and we've talked about doing an independent tiny little thing," Whedon said. "We've talked about everything in between, the bumper sticker, whatever format." (Read The Rest)
I think Dr. Horrible was just one of those things to good to pass up. I think we'll see a sequel in the summer of 2010 but that's just my opinion.
If you have not seen Dr. Horrible, watch it on Hulu for free.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Season Finale)
Share |
Don't read this if you have yet to watch the Season Finale.
All I can say is amazing!...and that it left me totally confused. I can follow time travel with the best of them but I am totally confused as to what happened in the last 10 minutes of the finale. Who the hell sent Catherine Weaver (T-1001) to the past and besides the future John Connor who else want's to take down Skynet? Then there was that time jump forward which looks like it took John and the T-1001 to a time before the future John Connor sent Cameron and Derek Reese to the past. So confusing!

Moon Trailer
Share |
When I was at the Sundance Film Festival this movie went from little buzz to one of the movies everyone wanted to see. Funny how that happens over the course of 2 weeks, some movies just come out of nowhere and the buzz that builds is crazy.
Unfortunately by the time the buzz had started and some of the reviews started to pour in, my schedule was already full. I'll admit the description I was told about the movie was along the line of "guy on a moon base that goes crazy", not a movie I was excited to see. Nobody told me it had Kevin Spacey doing the voice of the moon base computer or that it would involve possible clones. After seeing this trailer my interest is definitely peaked, plus how could I say no to a computer with the voice of Kevin Spacey

Damn You Fox! Help Save Dollhouse
Share |

Since I am not a hundred percent sure that Dollhouse is canceled here are 3 ways in which we might be able to save the show.
1. Catch up on Hulu and invite your friends to do the same. (link)
2. Let fox know how you feel. Try reaching them on twitter http://twitter.com/foxbroadcasting
3. Pre-order the DVD on Amazon

Tahmoh Penikett cast in Riverworld
Share |

Anyone remember the first Riverworld miniseries on the SciFi channel I think it was 204 or 2005. I am not sure if the ratings were just bad or if it had something to do with the death of Kevin Smith.

Emerald City Comicon Day 2 - some thoughts and a suggestion
Share |
Since I had visited most of the booths on Saturday, my primary goal was to make it to the Battlestar and Wil Wheaton panel. Battlestar Galactica had a line so long I really didn't think I would make it in but we did even if it was in the very back. Now that the show is over there was nothing new revealed but we did get to learn alot about what it was like being on set and working with Edward James Olmos and the rest of the crew. Aaron Douglas was a comedian and had everyone laughing. Tahmoh on the other hand seemed like a geniune nice guy who just loves being an actor. Michael Hogan didn't say much at all and I got the feeling that Michael just isn't into the con scene, and seemed a bit out of place. I also think that Michael might actually be Colonel Saul Tigh even when he is not acting.
The real highlight was the Wil Wheaton panel which was also packed. He read from the new book which will be released soon The Happiest Days (extended version). Wil is truly a master story teller, I can't help but feel like a little kid totally into the what ever story he is sharing which is usually something that reminds me of my childhood. Amazing, always a good time, which reminds me that I need to get his audiobook.
Here are some other random photos from the day.

My only suggestion for next year would be for Emerald City Comicon get some Saturday night entertainment. I enjoy going to the con but it ends so early (6pm) and I am left wanting more. Maybe a band to perform like the Decemberists or some other band from the Northwest. I don't think people would mind paying a few extra dollars to see the Saturday night show or have some kind of sponsored event at a bar where everyone can gather afterwards. Just a thought

Here are some other random photos from the day.

I loved Buffy The Vampire Slayer when it was on TV, it was brilliant and season 8 the comic book is also amazing but I just don't see how they could make a movie after where the comic book as taken the series.....But then again if anyone could do it, Joss Whedon could.

Seattle Emerald City Comicon Day 1

Got there a little late but made it into the Boom Comics panel. The highlight was hearing all about Mark Waid’s Irredeemable Comic which I bought at their booth and about the new partnership with Fox Atomic comic books to do a 28 Days Later series. I am a huge fan of both movies, I am excited that Danny Boyle will be returning for the 3rd movie and excited to get my hands on this comic. Here is the cover for the 1st issue that will be coming out in July.
Star Wars Fan Boys where there in full effect....
...as were the Borg.
Then I saw Rob Liefeld, whoa totally crazy. I remember when I looked up to this guy and was obsessed with Image Comics, especially Youngblood and Bloodstrike.
A Ghostbuster
Will return Sunday to see Wil Wheaton's panel.

My New Obsession: Supernatural
Share |

One night about a month ago while waiting for a friend my tv for whatever reason was turned to the CW and one of the latest Supernatural episodes was running. I only saw a good 10 minutes but I instantly fell in love. It looked dark and there seemed to be Angels and Demons fighting over one of the main characters. My interest was peaked and I quickly got the enter seasons on DVD.
The show is seriously amazing! I would liken it to Spawn or the world that is the Darkness and Witchblade. There is a mythology and good and evil fighting for souls and the world. The best part is that the main characters Dean and Sam seem to be fighting both. It is also extremely dark and at time gory.
I just finished the 2nd season and look forward to seeing the next season. If your a fan of Spawn I highly suggest giving the show a chance.

Star Trek Continuity & JJ Abrams
Share |

I just don't understand why Abrams couldn't stick to canon, there have been so many amazing books since Nemesis that tell the aftermath of Nemesis, so I don't understand why he couldn't just stick with that. Instead he had to go and create his own. The worst part is I kind of like it and can see why he might have done it. In Abram's post Nemesis world Data has been successfully downloaded to B4 and he is now captain of the Enterprise. Maybe this was Abrams way of making peace with Star Trek fans but it left me feeling so conflicted. I loved the idea of Data being back from the dead and as Captain of the Enterprise but what about all the countless books that have been written in which Data is not alive.
Damn you Abrams, I should have just skipped the countdown comics.

Joss Whedon's Dollhouse is Brilliant!
Share |

I am a huge fan of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, its brilliant. It took a while to build up the storyline but being a loyal Joss Whedon fan, I stuck with it knowing it would get better. I am shocked with all the so called Joss Whedon fans who quickly abandoned the show. Whole websites dedicated to the TV show have just ceased due to disgruntled bloggers disalllusioned with Joss Whedon. Dollrific.com is an example of one of those blogs that just gave up midway through the series.
This is Joss Whedon for goodness sake. The guy is a genius. Same guy who brought us Firefly, Serenity, Buffy, Angel and Dr. Horrible.... have a little faith. I don't think he would serve us some brainless tv show. At first I had some doubts but each episode got better and now I'm hooked. The "Man On The Street" episode was amazing, Voicemails turning neighbors to killing machines, amazing fight scene between Echo(Eliza Dushku) and Agent Ballard(Tahmoh Penikett), Dollhouses all over the world, everyone seems to be in on it and now I'm hooked.
If you havent started watching it, nows the time to start. If you started and abandoned the show after a few episodes I beg you to give the show another shot. Here is my favorite clip from the "Man On The Street", this is the part that basically sold me on the show. It's a spoiler but I a good one and it will give you an idea of what's to come. So watch it and then catch up on hulu.

Behind The Music of Battlestar Galactica

One of the greatest things about BSG was the music. I loved how unique the music was for a sci fi show and how dark it was a times. Here is SCI FI channel video with Bear McCreary who is responsible for the music and the amazing interpretation of Jimi Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower".
