Emerald City Comicon Day 2 - some thoughts and a suggestion

Share
Since I had visited most of the booths on Saturday, my primary goal was to make it to the Battlestar and Wil Wheaton panel. Battlestar Galactica had a line so long I really didn't think I would make it in but we did even if it was in the very back. Now that the show is over there was nothing new revealed but we did get to learn alot about what it was like being on set and working with Edward James Olmos and the rest of the crew. Aaron Douglas was a comedian and had everyone laughing. Tahmoh on the other hand seemed like a geniune nice guy who just loves being an actor. Michael Hogan didn't say much at all and I got the feeling that Michael just isn't into the con scene, and seemed a bit out of place. I also think that Michael might actually be Colonel Saul Tigh even when he is not acting.

The real highlight was the Wil Wheaton panel which was also packed. He read from the new book which will be released soon The Happiest Days (extended version). Wil is truly a master story teller, I can't help but feel like a little kid totally into the what ever story he is sharing which is usually something that reminds me of my childhood. Amazing, always a good time, which reminds me that I need to get his audiobook.

Here are some other random photos from the day.

My only suggestion for next year would be for Emerald City Comicon get some Saturday night entertainment. I enjoy going to the con but it ends so early (6pm) and I am left wanting more. Maybe a band to perform like the Decemberists or some other band from the Northwest. I don't think people would mind paying a few extra dollars to see the Saturday night show or have some kind of sponsored event at a bar where everyone can gather afterwards. Just a thought

  1. Michael is reserved, but once you get him talking he is the NICEST man in the world; nothing like Tigh whatsoever. You just want to hug him and hug him. He's honestly cuddly.
