Entertainment Weekly reports that James Cameron already has ideas on what he wants to do with a sequel to the hit movie "Avatar."
"I’ve had a storyline in mind from the start — there are even scenes in Avatar that I kept in because they lead to the sequel,” Cameron says. “It just makes sense to think of it as a two or three film arc, in terms of the business plan. The CG plants and trees and creatures and the musculo-skeletal rigging of the main characters — that all takes an enormous amount of time to create. It’d be a waste not to use it again.”
Sam Worthington also signed to play Jake Sully again, and he e-mailed EW some plot suggestions for the sequel: “Jake should have abused his avatar and be fat and unfit and demand Neyteri to get him a beer.”
And from MTV earlier, Cameron reported that the next film won't be a prequel, recounting previous backstory, but will begin after the events of the initial movie. "We'll follow Jake and Neytiri," he confirmed.
In fact, Cameron intends to follow the couple for another two films. "I have a trilogy-scaled arc of story right now, but I haven't really put any serious work into writing a script," he said.

ReplyDeleteDear gods, no. Another plot-free overblown snoreathon I do not need.
ReplyDeletePlot-free? I guess I saw the wrong movie. Yes, it's "Dances with Wolves" with Smurfs as someone put it, but that doesn't mean that it's not a great story. What many people fail to see is the underlying story that Cameron hinted to at Golden Globes. It's about a society that has embraced nature and learn to coexist with it, and if you ask me, that makes them more advanced than us. So, yes, I would love to see another one from Cameron!
